This dress is unique in a few ways. First, the satin portion of the skirt is a peachy-blush color. It appears softly muted below several layers of tulle. The tulle is unique in that it is very fine and there are several layers of different lengths. Because it is fine it lays very nicely (romantic but a bit edgy and not too poofy). I usually pretty conservative and love white or ivory dresses, but something about this dress has me in a trance... I love the hint of color. Would go really nicely with flowers.
As a sample gown, there are a few things to be aware of:
1) It is missing the belt that originally was sewn to the dress. There is no beadwork on the bodice where the belt was so something needs to cover it. One of the photos I've included shows how it looks without the belt. I made a sash from fabric that was as close to the color of the satin skirt as I could find. I personally think it complements the dress very nicely, but you can always try an ivory sash or ribbon as an alternative.
2) What makes this dress beautiful also makes it delicate and it needs to be handled with care. The edge of the tulle train has tears in 2 placess (see photos). You may want to have these repaired by a seamstress. They are on the train - one is left of center and the other is right of center. Because the tulle layers are intentionally different lengths, the tears are not immediately noticeable, but you may want to fix them so they do not get worse. There are also a few small holes that shouldn't be a problem if undisturbed. Handle with care.
